OUR BOOKING POLICY

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Terms and Conditions for our special offers and normal lessons.

NEW DRIVING SCHOOL BOOKING POLICY

Its unfortunate but on several occasions new pupils have booked with our driving instructor only to cancel their driving lessons with very little notice and this had led to the instructor waiting around for hour at a time or having to turn around and go home. This unfortunatly costs the instructor in the form of loss of income and uneccesary costs on some occasions traveling to the cancelled appointment.

Because of this we now ask for the first payment for all new customers to be made at the time of booking either over the phone, through our paypal account or by bank transfer. First payment will be for the time booked for the first lesson or the first 2hrs of a block booking. You can still pay for your block booking in full if you wish to do so.

Your booking will then be subject to our 24 hour cancellation policy, if you cancel with less than 24 hours notice your instructor will still need to be paid for his time unless we are able to fill the space with another customer. This means you will lose your deposit.

If you contact us by phone 0333 7729642 or email james@2nd2nonedrivingschool.co.uk to cancel your driving lesson before the 24 hour deadline then we will be happy to refund you any money owed or simply rebook your lesson for another day.

Any questions regarding this policy please contact our offices on 0333 7729642

REFUNDS

All payments are between you and the driving instructor providing your driving lessons.

If you pay the driving school we then transfer all funds to the driving instructor who will be teaching you.

All refunds are responsibility of the individual instructors but we will help you in any way we can regarding refunds.

All driving instructor have agreed to refund any unused lessons money if the claim for refund is made within 3 months of your last lesson. After this time it will be down to the instructor if they choose to refund you.

All refunds from block bookings will be recalculated so any used lessons are charged at full rate. You will be refunded the balance.

Please see the instructor Money Back Guarantee below for more details.

Under 17s gift vouchers are either booked for a specific event or are open ended and need booking for the event in advance, these vouchers can not be refunded.

Under 17s Driving Session bookings

Under 17s driving session bookings are none refundable, once you book your place the space is allocated to you and we then book as many instructors and time at the venue as needed. Therefor we are unable to refund Under 17s Driving Session. You are able to sell or give your session to someone else but you will need to inform us at least 48hrs before the event is booked.

Payments made through our website

If you pay for driving lessons through our website please be aware that we are a busy driving school and there may be a wait to commence your driving lessons with us. If we can not book your first driving lesson in the next 30 days then a full refund will be given. Any questions or concerns please call or email our office staff before purchasing your lessons online.

All payments through our website will be charged in British pounds and may aquire a small fee from your credit provider if you are purchasing these lessons from outside the UK.

INSTRUCTOR MONEY BACK GUARANTEE

All of our driving instructors have signed up to a Money Back Guarantee, In doing so they have agreed to refund you any money owing for outstanding driving lessons that were block purchased. The used driving lessons of any block will be recalculated at our standard rate of £29 per hour and the remainder of your money returned to you.

If you have booked a block of 10 hours at any point through your driving lessons with us and you no longer require the full 10 hours of driving lessons, then your instructor will refund the difference to you. (Please note that all refunds will be the responsibilty of your instructor and not the driving school, although we will be happy to assist you).

All claims for a refund need to be firstly made directly to your instructor and then if you cant reach an agreement to the owners of the driving school James Orgar and Holly West who will talk to your instructor for you. James and Holly can be reached on the main office contact number 0333 7729642.

All driving lessons carry a 24hr cancellation notice otherwise your time will be deducted from your prepaid lessons.

New Learners can get their first 10hrs at just £229

The 10 hours must be paid for in full at time of booking over the phone or directly to the Instructor at the beginning of the first lesson. A minimum deposit will be required.

Each lesson will be done as 2hrs unless otherwise agreed by yourself with the driving instructor.

The TRY US AND SEE £229 deal can not be used if you have already had previous driving lessons or if you already have your driving test booked unless otherwise agreed with your driving instructor directly. This does not apply to pupils that have attended our Under 17's Driving sessions.

If you do not complete the 10 hours or the full 10 hours are not needed then the used lessons will be calculated at our standard rate of £30 and the remaining balance returned to you by your instructor. Example: You book and pay for the introductory offer of 10 hours for £229, you use 4 hours and decide you dont need the remaining 6 hours or you pass your driving test. The first 4 hours would then be calculated at £32 = £128 and you will have £101.00 returned to you. If you paid by card then this may also include an additional 3.5% of the full amount.

All driving lessons carry a 24hr notice of cancellation. Any less than this will result in a full charge for that lesson.

The contract is between you and the instructor monies paid to, not 2nd2none Driving School.

All Refunds of payments must be sought with in a 3 month period (90 Days) from your last lesson otherwise all remaining funds will be lost and put in our Charity Box.

You are required to be in possession of a current, valid provisional driving licence. It is your responsibility to inform your instructor of any changes or endorsements to this. If upon your first driving lesson you can not produce a valid provisional driving licence the driving lesson will not take place. You will still be charged for the lesson.

We are not responsible for practical test appointments which are cancelled by the D.V.S.A. nor are we responsible for driving tests that can not go ahead because the pupil has lost or misplaced their valid provisional on the day of the driving test. Full charges will apply if less than 24 hours notice is given.

We reserve the right to refuse the use of a car for practical tests, where the instructor, after an assessment lesson, feels that you have not reached a satisfactory standard or your instructor feels you are a danger to other road users. We maybe able to provide you with another instructor if time allows for an assessment if you think the instructor has treated you unfairly in their decision.

If you change your pick up or drop off point without 24 hours notice, it may not be possible to give you a full hour lesson; a full hour will still be charged.

If you are late for a lesson, the lesson will still finish at the arranged time. Missed time will not be re-allocated, nor will the lesson price be reduced. Please try and let your instructor know directly if you know you are going to be late as we may be able to help avoid lost lesson time.

You must ensure that you are not under the influence of alcohol or drugs whilst attending a lesson, “remember the night before”. Your instructor will refuse to teach you if they believe this to be the case and you will still be charged for the lesson. Please check labelling on all medication you are currently taking with regards to driving.

Practical tests can not be booked until you have passed your theory test. All pupils still needing to take their theory test will be given free access to Theory test pro through our website.

All intensive driving courses require a deposit upon booking and the remaining balance is to be paid in full 7 days prior to the start of the course.

This deposit is none refundable and any cancelation of the driving course will result in you losing the deposit.

All cancelations of intensive courses will be required in writing or email no less than a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the course start date otherwise the full cost of the course may still be payable.

The instructor has the right to refuse the use of their car for the test if, in the instructors opinion they feel that the candidate is a danger to themselves or other road users.

Any additional tuition that the student may require will be charged at our normal hourly rate or block booking rates unless otherwise agreed with your instructor.

To qualify for the free driving re-test that comes with our 36hr and 42hr courses if you fail your first attempt you need to contact the office on 0333 7729642 and we will re-book you in for the re-test, this does not include any additional hours required on the day or the use of the driving instructors car.

The re-test must be taken with a driving instructor from 2nd2None driving school. If you go ahead and re-book the driving test yourself then unfortunatly this will void this offer of a free retest.

Once you pass your driving test your driving instructor may ask you if they can take a picture of you, with your pass certificate in front of our car. We may use this picture on our website and in any future advertising we carryout. Once permission is given by allowing the taking of the picture it becomes the property of 2nd2none driving school.

SHOW ME, TELL ME Q&A

Show Me Questions

1. Tell me how you’d check that the brakes are working before starting a journey.

Brakes should not feel spongy or slack. Brakes should be tested as you set off. Vehicle should not pull to one side.

2. Tell me where you’d find the information for the recommended tyre pressures for this car and how tyre pressures should be checked.

Manufacturer’s guide, use a reliable pressure gauge, check and adjust pressures when tyres are cold, don’t forget spare tyre, remember to refit valve caps.

3. Tell me how you make sure your head restraint is correctly adjusted so it provides the best protection in the event of a crash.

The head restraint should be adjusted so the rigid part of the head restraint is at least as high as the eye or top of the ears, and as close to the back of the head as is comfortable. Note: Some restraints might not be adjustable.

4. Tell me how you’d check the tyres to ensure that they have sufficient tread depth and that their general condition is safe to use on the road.

No cuts and bulges, 1.6mm of tread depth across the central three-quarters of the breadth of the tyre, and around the entire outer circumference of the tyre.

5. Tell me how you’d check that the headlights and tail lights are working. You don’t need to exit the vehicle.

Explain you’d operate the switch (turn on ignition if necessary), then walk round vehicle (as this is a ‘tell me’ question, you don’t need to physically check the lights).

6. Tell me how you’d know if there was a problem with your anti-lock braking system.

Warning light should illuminate if there is a fault with the anti-lock braking system.

7. Tell me how you’d check the direction indicators are working. You don’t need to exit the vehicle.

Explain you’d operate the switch (turn on ignition if necessary), and then walk round vehicle (as this is a ‘tell me’ question, you don’t need to physically check the lights).

8. Tell me how you’d check the brake lights are working on this car.

Explain you’d operate the brake pedal, make use of reflections in windows or doors, or ask someone to help.

9. Tell me how you’d check the power-assisted steering is working before starting a journey.

If the steering becomes heavy, the system may not be working properly. Before starting a journey, 2 simple checks can be made.

Gentle pressure on the steering wheel, maintained while the engine is started, should result in a slight but noticeable movement as the system begins to operate. Alternatively turning the steering wheel just after moving off will give an immediate indication that the power assistance is functioning.

10. Tell me how you’d switch on the rear fog light(s) and explain when you’d use it/them. You don’t need to exit the vehicle.

Operate switch (turn on dipped headlights and ignition if necessary). Check warning light is on. Explain use.

11. Tell me how you switch your headlight from dipped to main beam and explain how you’d know the main beam is on.

Operate switch (with ignition or engine on if necessary), check with main beam warning light.

12. Open the bonnet and tell me how you’d check that the engine has sufficient oil.

Identify dipstick/oil level indicator, describe check of oil level against the minimum and maximum markers.

13. Open the bonnet and tell me how you’d check that the engine has sufficient engine coolant.

Identify high and low level markings on header tank where fitted or radiator filler cap, and describe how to top up to correct level.

14. Open the bonnet and tell me how you’d check that you have a safe level of hydraulic brake fluid.

Identify reservoir, check level against high and low markings.
